What we’re about
Welcome to Intro to Hiking with STF (Svenska turistföreningen)!
This group is for anyone curious about hiking and outdoor life but unsure where to start.
I’m Frida – a trained mountain guide and volunteer with Svenska Turistföreningen (STF). I lead free, beginner-friendly hikes in Stockholm that offer a relaxed introduction to hiking.
Each event is about 3 hours long and takes place in easy-to-reach nature areas near the city. During the hike, we talk about how to plan a trip, what to pack, how to dress, and how to respect the Right of Public Access in Sweden. You’ll also get tips on finding trails and staying safe and comfortable outdoors.
Whether you're an international student, new to Sweden, or just want to feel more confident in nature – you're welcome to join! The event and group is open to everyone but adresses international student who wants to connect with like-minded people!
No experience or STF membership needed. Just bring your curiosity and a pair of comfortable shoes.
Let’s explore nature together!

Hello! Do you what to join a free guided tour with an introduction to hiking in Stockholm?
My name is Frida. I am a volunteer with Svenska Turistföreningen (STF) and I lead hiking tours that we call Intro to Hiking. If you or someone you know wants to gain basic knowledge about hiking and outdoor life – and at the same time enjoy a nice nature experience – then we think you should join us outdoors! It's completely free and you don't need to be a member of STF to participate.**How does it work?**
Over approximately three hours, you receive a guided introduction to hiking and outdoor life in easily accessible, easy-to-walk nature near urban areas.
During the hike, I will tell you what's good to know when planning and carrying out a shorter hiking trip. We will talk about:
- Where to find information about different hiking trails
- What the Right of public access is and what you should know about it
- What equipment might be good to bring along
- How to think about clothes and shoes
- Things that are good to know when staying at a campsite**When and where?**
On 11th of May 2025 I will lead a hike in Stockholm, Bromma. The activity starts at 10.00 and ends at 13.00.
Meeting point: Åkeshovs metro, exit towards Åkeshovs slott**Who can participate?**
