**Time:** Show up between 6pm-7pm to meet in person and get good seats for the show.
**Totally Optional:** Bring a folding chair (or pillows and a blanket), non-alcoholic drinks, and maybe a snack to share.

**Introverts United** is a welcoming space where virtual connections turn into real-life communities & friendships. We start by meeting online to get to know each other—then connect in person at exciting events right here in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The whole idea of this Meetup Group is that we get a chance to meet one another online before attending events together. So go ahead and sign up for this LIVE event; Then go back to our “Introverts United” group on Meetup, and **sign up for at least one ONLINE event.**

**Special Guests: Meet the Artists Online**
On Sunday, June 3rd at 7pm, the artists themselves, Elizabeth Rodriguez and/or Magdelys Savigne from Okan, have agreed to join our online gathering to tell us their story and answer questions.

**Get to Know Each Other...and Okan's music**
There will also be several other events to choose from, where we will listen to their music, discuss their lyrics, and get to know each other before showing up for the concert.

**Elizabeth Rodriguez & Magdelys Savigne (OKAN)**
Elizabeth Rodriguez and Magdelys Savigne are the dynamic Cuban-born duo behind OKAN, an acclaimed Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble based in Toronto.

Elizabeth is a classically trained violinist who once served as concertmaster of Havana’s Youth Orchestra, while Magdelys is an accomplished percussionist and vocalist from Santiago de Cuba, with honors in orchestral percussion from Havana’s University of the Arts.

The two met in Canada in 2016 while part of the band Maqueque and went on to form OKAN in 2017. Their music fuses Afro-Cuban spiritual traditions, jazz, folk, and global rhythms, with vocals in Spanish, Yoruba, and Spanglish, creating a powerful blend that explores themes of immigration, resistance, love, and identity.

OKAN's work challenges cultural and social norms, advocating for freedom of expression, queer rights, and gender equality.

OKAN has earned multiple accolades including Juno Awards and Grammy nominations. Their 2023 album *Okantomi* received critical acclaim and continued to build their reputation as innovative artists who connect deeply with audiences through mesmerizing harmonies, virtuosic musicianship, and evocative lyrics.

Together, Elizabeth and Magdelys bring a fresh, vibrant voice to Afro-Cuban and Latin jazz, making them an inspiring and transformative presence in the world music scene.
