Join us in an exclusive after-hours sunset and moonlit paddle through the Skokie Lagoons. Dusk is primetime for wildlife to be out and about; past guests have seen great blue herons, egrets, bald eagles, turtles and more. Night paddling is not normally permitted in the Forest Preserves, so this is a special opportunity to experience the lagoons from a rare perspective.

Friends’ trusty canoe guides will help everyone safely load in and out of the canoes, answer questions about the river along the way and act as safety monitors on the water. We provide all equipment, paddling instruction, and safety talk. Trips start and end from the same location. Space is limited, registration required.

Please dress for the weather, hats and closed toed shoes encouraged. Please bring your own water. Personal items like sunscreen, sunglasses, cameras, etc, are welcome, a watertight bag is encouraged. While Friends welcomes beginners on all our trips and no paddling experience necessary
