Crystal's End of Summer Pool Party (Lake Villa)
Details
Against all odds, we have successfully survived another summer! To celebrate this remarkable achievement, Crystal has graciously agreed to let us invade her backyard one last time before everyone starts posting pictures of apples, scarves, and decorative gourds.
We're excited to once again be partnering with Circle of Friends: Women's Social for another backyard pool party at Crystal's house! Our last collaboration was a blast, so we're looking forward to bringing both groups together again for another afternoon of food, swimming, laughter, and new friendships
Fuel for the Festivities
Good news! Food will be provided by the host, because swimming burns approximately seventeen thousand imaginary calories.
☀️ Guests are asked to bring a drink, a dessert, or both. Together we'll create the most scientifically balanced meal possible: burgers, chips, brownies, cookies, and the single vegetable someone reluctantly brought to ease their conscience.
Parking
‼️Please park on the street or in designated parking areas. Do not park on the grass.
The lawn has done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment, and we'd like to keep it looking like the grass is really greener, instead of the aftermath of an off road rally.
Official Schedule
1:00 PM: "I'll only stay for an hour."
2:30 PM: You're still floating in the pool discussing whether hot dogs count as sandwiches.
5:00 PM: Someone asks if anyone wants dessert. Everyone says they're full. Everyone still eats dessert.
Sunset: We collectively mourn the end of summer and pretend we won't be complaining about winter in three months.
Backyard Rules
☀️ The pool is for swimming, floating, and dramatic existential conversations.
☀️ Please do not test whether your phone is waterproof.
☀️ Pool noodles are not medieval weapons.
☀️ If you say, "Watch this," everyone reserves the right to immediately become concerned.
☀️ Whoever brings the best dessert earns absolutely no prize except bragging rights until next summer.
Completely Serious Legal Department
By attending, you certify that you are a functioning adult... or at least capable of pretending to be one for a few hours:
☀️ You are responsible for your own transportation, belongings, hydration, sunscreen, dietary choices, and questionable decisions. The host assumes no responsibility for sunburns, bee encounters, grass stains, flipped lawn chairs, cannonballs gone wrong, missing flip flops, or realizing too late that you forgot a towel.
☀️ Should you accidentally fall into the pool while insisting, "I meant to do that," witnesses are contractually obligated to laugh first and verify your well being immediately afterward.
☀️ Most importantly, treat Crystal's home with respect. Leave the backyard at least as nice as you found it so she'll consider letting us back next year instead of changing her address.
See you there for one last splash before autumn steals the spotlight! Address will be sent day of at 10 A.M.
