CCBC Catonsville will be hosting two more "Introduction to Fab Lab" classes on Monday February 21, 2011. Each class is three hours and fifteen minutes long. One class is 12:00pm to 3:15pm and the other is 4:00pm to 7:15 pm. Contact the Fab Lab Coordintator Bill Werneke at wwerneke @ ccbcmd.edu or 443-840-4401 if you are interested in taking a class. The class costs $99.00. Bill will tell you how to pay for and register for this class. Register and pay for this class before you come to the lab on that day. RSVPing to this Meetup group event does not sign you up for this class. Bill is also hosting/instructing both classes.
You may want to bring paper, a few pens, and a USB thumbdrive to the class.
Information on directions and parking at the college have been posted in previous announcements to this Meetup group.
If you are taking one of the "Introduction to Fab Lab" classes, or are thinking about taking this class, below is a list of equipment on which you will receive training. You will also be trained on the software that is associated with the operation of these machines. You will learn the basics of how to design and create products using these machines, with the exception of the UPrint 3D printer, which uses 3 dimensional computer aided design (CAD) files for its input. The community college teaches separate 3D CAD classes in the CAD lab which is one floor above the Fab Lab.
