Welcome to Invigorate, a London-based hiking community for people who love scenic countryside, friendly groups, and meticulously organised days out. We explore the absolute best landscapes within easy reach of London—from the rolling Surrey Hills and the Chilterns to the dramatic Sussex coast, historic Kent Downs, ancient woodlands, and iconic cathedral cities.
We are a not-for-profit community; our small event fees directly cover our running costs and Meetup group platform fees only.
Whether you’re new to hiking or a seasoned trail walker, you’ll find inspiring routes, a warm welcome, and effortless, stress-free logistics from start to finish.

• Thoughtfully Planned Hikes: Every single route is fully checked, timed, and risk-assessed. You will always know the exact distance, terrain, pacing, travel plans, lunch options, and expected finish time before you even leave home.
• Low costs. Our day hikes start from £1, but book early before the prices increases.
• Join the hike where you want, at a London Station or where the hike begins, offering you flexibility
• Manageable, enjoyable group size, between 20 and 30 hikers maximum
• Selective membership, no troublemakers or weirdoes, all members must have a recognisable headshot photo and be using their real name.
• A Warm, Inclusive Community: Most members join on their own and quickly feel right at home.
• We hike at a steady, social pace and stay together as a single group.
• We don't lose or leave anybody (unlike several other groups)
• Beautiful, Varied Itineraries: We don't just hike; we explore. Expect a beautiful blend of natural beauty and heritage—including rolling ridges, coastal cliffs, ancient forests, vineyards, riverside paths, historic castles, and unique seasonal events like autumn canopy trails and Christmas markets.
• We avoid the big crushes with groups, at the station or on our routes
• Clear Logistics, Zero Hassle: Meeting points, group train times, ticket advice, and pub stops are always clearly spelt out. You turn up, meet the group, and enjoy your day out.

• Want to discover amazing new places without the administrative stress of planning them?
• Can comfortably maintain a steady pace across distances of 12–17 miles.

> 🚫 Please note: To ensure smooth group dynamics and trail safety, we do not allow dogs on our hikes.

We rotate across the premier hiking and walking trails of the South East:

• Surrey Hills: Leith Hill, Box Hill, Ranmore Common, Reigate Hill.
• The Chilterns: Ivinghoe Beacon, Ashridge Estate, Coombe Hill, Wendover.
• Kent Downs & Coast: Wye Valley, the historic Pilgrims’ Way, Folkestone clifftops
• Sussex Coast & South Downs: Seven Sisters, Cuckmere Haven, Alfriston, Rye, and Winchelsea.
• Thames Path & Waterways: Windsor Great Park, Marlow, Henley-on-Thames, Runnymede
• Historic Cathedral Cities: Ely, Winchester, Canterbury, St Albans.
• Literary & Heritage Routes: Charles Dickens’ Kent marshes, Charles Darwin's home, Pluckley woods.
• Zone-6 Escapes: Ancient canals, Epping Forest, Ruislip Woods, and London's finest green commons

📅 How Our Hikes Work

• Distance: Typically 12–17 miles.
• Pace: A steady, social, and consistent 2.5 mph average.
• Breaks: Frequent short catch-ups for water, snacks, and photos.
• Lunch: Usually a relaxed stop at a traditional country pub or village café.
• Socials: An optional post-hike drink at a pub near the station before heading back to London.
• Safety First: A fully equipped first-aid kit is carried on every single excursion.

Invigorate attracts members who are naturally warm, open, and easy to talk to. We prioritise a culture where everyone is respectful of group pacing, supportive of one another, and genuinely there to enjoy the scenery and the company. Because the vast majority of our members join by themselves, making new friends along the way is incredibly easy.
