Vikos Gorge Adventure: Eight-Hour Hike and Village Exploration

Join us for a spectacular day trip to the breathtaking Vikos Gorge, one of Europe's deepest canyons!

Itinerary:
7:00 AM: Departure from Ioannina
8:15 AM: Arrive at Monodendri village, brief orientation
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM: Full-day hike from Monodendri to Voidomatis Springs and back (8 hours)
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Rest and refreshments in Monodendri
7:00 PM: Estimated return to Ioannina

What to Expect:

• A challenging 8-hour hike (approx. 20 km round trip) with stunning views of the Vikos Gorge
• Opportunity to see the crystal-clear Voidomatis Springs
• Round-trip transportation from Ioannina by car

Transportation: We will be traveling by car. If you have a vehicle and can offer rides, please let us know. Carpooling arrangements will be coordinated before the event.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking boots (ankle support recommended)
• Three litres of water (essential; individual needs vary)
• Packed lunch and snacks (essential)
• Sun protection (essential; hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
• Light jacket (optional, for variable weather)
• Trekking poles (if you use them)
• First aid kit (optional)
• Camera (optional)

Note: This is a strenuous hike suitable for experienced hikers with good fitness levels. The trail involves significant elevation changes and can be rocky and steep in places.
Weather Warning: Temperatures are expected to reach 36°C (97°F). Emergency communication will be available throughout the hike.
