First Talk Description:
• Swift’s New Registry-Based Dependency Management
Tony Loehr, Developer Advocate for Cycode
Until recently, Swift developers were compelled to use source-based dependency management via git repositories to resolve dependencies and get their package ecosystem up and running. Enter Swift 5.7, now supporting a registry-based dependency management option to address the concerns above. In this talk, we will address how this method will benefit the growing Swift community. By leveraging Swift repositories developers can put to work essential software supply chain best practices to enable DevOps success. We will also show you how to ensure consistency across all your Swift developer teams for dependencies and packages as well as enable fast and reliable CI/CD in Artifactory as an example.
Tony Loehr is the Developer Advocate for Cycode, a SuperFrog, and has experience as a Swift Developer. At Cycode, their prerogative is to make it easy for developers to use the Cycode platform, and to help protect data through knowledge sharing. They have professional experience with engineering, marketing, and sales and bring a unique perspective on how to implement comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. They value being a lifelong learner and aim to help teach cybersecurity solutions to people with varying degrees of technical knowledge. In their free time, Tony enjoys tending house plants, freestyle rapping, and working on various side projects.
