18:20 - 18:30 Simon Montford (http://www.simonmontford.com/) (WEB3//IOT (http://www.web3iot.com/))
Open Forum; members are invited to make announcements, share news, seek project collaborators, promote their IoT events, and request topics for future Meetups.
18:30 - 18:50 Carl Allen (https://www.linkedin.com/in/carlkennethallen/) (IBM Watson IoT (https://www.ibm.com/internet-of-things/uk-en/))
The IoT is made up of millions of sensors that deliver huge volumes of data, but how is this relevant to businesses and end-users? Carl will present several case studies that will demonstrate how cognitive technologies have been successfully applied in real world situations.
18:50 - 19.10 Richard Henderson (https://www.linkedin.com/in/richardhenderson3/) (DataStax (https://www.datastax.com/))
A growing number of organisations are now benefiting by leveraging IoT technologies to achieve bottom line savings. In this presentation, however, you will hear how companies are increasingly utilising the IOT to achieve top line revenue generation. In addition, Richard will cover data governance and compliance issues, and will discuss how your organisation can ensure it does not transgress the impending General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that will become enforceable from 25 May 2018.
19:10 - 19:30 Ian Smith (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-smith-8b24b4/) (Well Bred Software)
Delivering reliable and effective IoT systems presents many challenges. Not least of these are the complexities of building the smart devices and networked systems. It is vital that they reliably and accurately capture, process, and store application data and perform as intended. Testing embedded devices can, however, present a number of particular challenges. Ian has been testing embedded systems and IT software for many years, so will offer insights into how to address some of the main testing and security challenges that IoT systems present.
19:30 -19:50 DISCUSSION & PANEL Q&A
19:50 - 21:00 NETWORKING & DRINKS
