WHAT IS DATASAVE.STORE?
DataSave.Store is a public, collaborative citizen project designed to preserve and store federal data, as well as put the data on modern platforms which provide amazing, interesting new data analysis and AI tools which are revolutionizing IoT.
WHY DATASAVE.STORE?
To build a store of federal data including but not limited to data from a multitude of federal organizations (listed and linked to below).
We are a group of scientists, engineers, programmers, marketers and just general citizens fascinated by empirical, scientific enquiry and passionate about the wonders of data science coming in from remote sensors, public data sets, and what we can do as citizens to build creative solutions and improve our world in a time of need.
HOW?
DataStore will proceed in accordance with a negotiated set of protocols to ensure trustworthiness and safety. In general, the way in which this information is being transferred is through web harvesting, but there are other methods. We will provide a general workflow describing a best practice for how this data will be transferred, but we encourage creativity. We encourage openness, creativity and participation regardless of background. We are experiencing a national windfall of public datasets being transferred to modern, cool, cloud-based tools and are looking to utilize this information for the public good.

WHO SHOULD COME TO DATASAVE.STORE?
All are welcome. We will have a full spectrum of tasks, from non-technical documentation writing to extracting data from the so-called 'uncrawlables'. If you want to make an impact, we will ensure you have work! :-)
