Internet of Things Meetup 7 - Wearable Technology: Art and Arctic

Details
Join us for the last IoT Liverpool before the summer (well, we're skipping August)
It's a double header, where we'll be hearing about (and seeing) two very different applications of wearable technology.
• How do you operate your iPod once suited up for an Arctic expedition? Graham Ogle will be showing how wearable technology can rise to that, and other challenges. He'll be talking about some of the projects he's worked on, and showing off some bits and pieces of the hardware that makes it work.
• Costumologists (http://costumologists.tumblr.com/) will be showing the amazing costume they built for Systolic, a performance at the Kazimier. The costume was built using fibre optic fabric and a laser cut black fabric mask. Using a custom built heart pulse rate monitor, they were able to measure the performers heart and use the data (via wifi) to control audio visual parameters for the piece. The RGB values of the suit were driven by this data, alongside the soundscape which was designed in SuperCollider.
Red Ninja (http://redninja.co.uk/) are generously sponsoring the refreshments, so there'll be pizza and beer from 6:30pm, with the talk starting at 7(ish)
6h00m - Doors open
6h30m - Pizza
7h00m - Intro and housekeeping
7h05m - Graham Ogle
7h30m - Costumologists
7h55m - Networking until the beer runs out...
