Internet of Things Meetup 30: Laura Pullig on visual art, sensors & e-textiles!

We're pleased as punch to announce our first IoT Liverpool meetup of 2018... with Laura Pullig joining us !!

Laura is a visual artist working with new media and electronics. She uses sculpture and experimentation with simple electronic circuits, often using analogue technology to visualise the interactions of living systems. Laura works with e-textiles and is particularly interested in making sensors for use in her artworks. She will talk about recent projects including a project with Manchester University exploring how patients with musculoskeletal conditions could non-verbally communicate pain which resulted in three e-textile interfaces. A Plant synth kit which allows the user to build a simple synth which can be attached to leaves and plants to make weird sounds. And ‘Flock’, a temporary installation of wind responsive illuminating windsocks exhibited in Blackpool.
