What we’re about
I paddle, you paddle, we all paddle!
If you raft, kayak, SUP, paddle with friends, build community paddles, or just want to get to know the variety of paddle sports and the crazy-stoked paddlers in Utah, welcome! Outrigger canoe on Salt Lake? ABSOLUTELY! Paddle down the Jordan? DONE & WELCOME! Bomb the Weber with the boys and girls from Glide? DO IT! Want to learn how to stand up paddle? BOOM! You are in the right place. Love Park City in the winter, but haven't been on open water in a kayak yet? Here you are! Heard about the falls at Gunlock, but didn't know it's a great place to paddle year-round? You are welcome. How about Causey? Worth the trip! Powell? Oh, yes. Even the parts in Arizona... ;) You get the idea.
Post a potential meetup and let's build together. Utah is a big state - let's paddle it ALL. Happy Paddling!

ANYBODY can paddle this out-and-back event on one of the calmest sections of The Colorado River. There will be Olympic-level paddlers involved, as well as absolute beginners. It is 100% inclusive. Youth are encouraged to participate, as well as adults. Come and play with and learn from the best. Kayaks, surfskis, outriggers, stand up paddleboards, canoes, pedal-craft, oversized multi-person SUPs are all welcome. It's like a 5k or marathon; there are a few podium spots, but most of us go to get a good workout and have fun on the river.BAD ASSES. You know, DONKEYS.
On the CA side of the river, if you drive over there, watch for burros along (or even in) the road. Seriously. They tend to emerge during the day, but can be out during the evening hours. Just stay focused on the road instead of the river!HOTELS, AIRBNBs, CAMPING RESORTS, ETC.
Book your lodging well ahead of time. There are plenty of campgrounds, nightly rentals, and some hotels in the area. Lake Havasu is just 40 minutes or so away, so that presents some options, too.NIGHT PADDLE and BBQ
Dig Paddlesports and some friends will be staying at a home in Moovalya Keys, a beautiful "canal home" with a pool table and huge dock for kayaks and boards. Paddling the canals at night is a TREAT. There are about 2 miles worth of canals, and it makes for a great recovery crawl at the end of the day. We throw a potluck BBQ with grilled chicken, brats, steak, whatever, out on the patio Saturday night, then we paddle the canals (headlamps!). You can ACTUALLY paddle in, or park out on the main road, and we'll do a quick shuttle to get you in. Curbside parking is limited at the home, itself. BBQ and paddle from 6-10 pm.HOW MANY PEOPLE FROM iPaddleUtah HAVE GONE BEFORE?
We've had up to 30 paddlers from Utah out in years past. You don't have to be fast to show up and play. You don't need fancy gear to have fun, but it does help you to go faster! Play hard or take it easy, everybody has a great time.HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO PARKER, AZ?
It's a good 4.5-5 hour drive from St. George, UT, depending on your route, so 8-10 from Provo through Ogden... Think about carpooling.Put comments/questions in the thread below. To stay updated on the race event, you can follow updates on the event site and on Another Dam Race's Instagram page. See you in AZ!
