IQカフェって？
アイデア&クエスチョンカフェ、略してIQカフェは、人生において大切 なことを話したり、考えたりすることを目標としたインターナショナルな集まりです。アートとは?社会の中の貧しい人をケアするべきか?人 種差別や、性別による不公平さをどう考えるべきか?こう言った質問に ついて話し合うことを通して、私たちが何を信じ、どのように自分の意 見を持つかに自信を持つことができます。
What is IQ Cafe?
Ideas & Questions Cafe, or IQ Cafe for short is an international community of people who want to think and discuss about things that matter in life. What is art? Should we care about the poor in society? How should we think about gender inequality & racism? These are the types of questions we want to engage with so we can be confident in what we believe and form our own opinion.

Do you find it difficult through the business of life to spend time reflecting about deep things? Have you ever wondered how to find meaning in your life? Have you ever asked why there is suffering in the world or if God exists? It is important to think about the deep things in life and figure out for yourself what you believe. IQ Cafe is a place for you to think critically about things that matter.

Make friends
We are an international community who is eager to practice new languages and engage with new perspectives. With English or Japanese discussion groups, at IQ Cafe you can practice discussing deep topics in your second language, and make new friends!

What is the Meaning of Work?
Work is an indivisible aspects of our life. We spend countless hours studying to get into a good university so that we can spend more countless hours studying at that university to get a good job. The average person spends at least 30% of their entire lives working. Yet, many people work everyday without wondering what the purpose of work is or evaluating what makes a job "good" or "bad."
So, what is the meaning of work?
This week at IQ Cafe, our speaker will introduce several different perspectives on this question and share their own reflections. After a short introduction, we’ll break into small discussion groups where you’re invited to share your ideas and experiences in an open and respectful space.
🕒 Schedule:
8:00-8:20 - Listen to a bilingual lecture on the night's topic while enjoying snacks and drinks
8:20-9:00 - Discussion in small groups
Afterwards - Stick around and hang out with new friends!
What is IQ Cafe?
IQ Cafe is a place that wants to create a space for you to think deeply.
We think it's a shame how many people go through life without reflecting on things that matter. It’s important to take the time to think about the difficult questions in life. It can be easy to live your life and just go through the motions.
The presentations at IQ Cafe are always bilingual because we want you to be able to practice Japanese and English! For the discussion time, there are tables with English and Japanese available. Let's practice language together!
We have Bilingual events every Wednesday night at 8pm in the middle of Sapporo! We look forward to seeing you there!

仕事は私たちの人生において切り離すことのできない側面です。良い大学に入るために長い時間勉強し、その大学でもさらに多くの時間を費やして学び、良い仕事に就こうとします。平均的な人は、人生の少なくとも30％を仕事に費やしています。にもかかわらず、多くの人は仕事の目的とは何か、あるいは「良い仕事」と「悪い仕事」を分けるものは何かを深く考えないまま、日々働いています。
では、仕事の意味とは何でしょうか？
今週の IQ Cafe では、このテーマについていくつかの異なる視点を紹介し、スピーカー自身の考えも共有します。短い導入のあと、小さなディスカッショングループに分かれ、オープンでお互いを尊重する雰囲気の中で、皆さんの考えや経験を自由に共有していただけます。
