⏳ **Is There Value in Waiting?**

We live in a world that moves fast — instant messages, same-day delivery, on-demand everything. Waiting feels inconvenient, even wasteful. Instant gratification is celebrated and in many ways improved our society.

On the other hand, we can see the value of waiting. It builds character, deepens appreciation, and helps us grow.

This week at IQ Café, we’ll explore both perspectives on waiting and have a chance to discuss the positive and negative aspects of both instant and delayed gratification in our culture today.

🕒 **Schedule:**
**8:00-8:20** \- Listen to a bilingual lecture on the night's topic while enjoying snacks and coffee
**8:20-9:00** \- Discussion in small groups
**Afterwards** \- Stick around and hang out with new friends\!

IQ Cafe is a place that wants to create a space for you to think deeply.
We think it's a shame how many people go through life without reflecting on things that matter. It’s important to take the time to think about the difficult questions in life. It can be easy to live your life and just go through the motions.

The presentations at IQ Cafe are always bilingual because we want you to be able to practice Japanese and English! For the discussion time, there are tables with English and Japanese available. Let's practice language together!

そんな中で、「待つこと」は不便で、時には時間の無駄のように感じられるかもしれません。
すぐに満たされること（インスタントな満足）は称賛され、私たちの社会を便利に、そして効率的にしてきました。

一方で、「待つこと」には確かに価値があるとも言えます。忍耐は人を成長させ、感謝の心を深め、私たちの内面を豊かにしてくれます。

今週のIQカフェでは、「待つこと」と「すぐに得ること」の両方の側面について考えます。
現代社会における「即時の満足」と「遅れて得る満足」――その長所と短所を一緒に探りながら、ディスカッションしてみましょう。
