Why Do People Seek Privacy?
Imagine if everything you did from today onward was recorded and watched by others. How would you feel?

For many people, this idea is deeply uncomfortable. It raises an important question: why does personal privacy matter so much to us?
Is privacy about protecting ourselves from judgment or harm? Or is it essential for maintaining our sense of identity, freedom, and authenticity?

In a world where sharing has become the norm, how much privacy do we really need—and what are we willing to give up?
Some people believe privacy is a fundamental human right, while others argue that openness and transparency can help build trust and stronger communities.

So, why do people seek privacy, and what does it look like in today’s world?

This week at IQ Cafe, our speaker will explore a range of perspectives on this question and share their own reflections. After a short introduction, we’ll break into small discussion groups where you’re invited to share your thoughts and experiences in an open and respectful space.

8:00-8:20 - Listen to a bilingual lecture on the night's topic while enjoying snacks and coffee
8:20-9:00 - Discussion in small groups

今週のIQ Cafeでは、このテーマについてスピーカーがさまざまな視点を紹介し、自身の考えを共有します。その後、少人数のディスカッショングループに分かれ、リラックスした雰囲気の中で、お互いの考えや経験を自由に分かち合うことができます。
