Hi all,
I’m setting up an interesting little Korean feature for this Sunday, February 1st at 12pm Noon. Please join me for the screening of No Other Choice.

A victim of downsizing at the paper mill where he has worked for many years, middle manager Man-Soo (Lee Byung-hun) finds himself cast adrift in an unforgiving job market; with bills piling up and his house in danger of foreclosure, he is forced into a drastic course of action when a choice role becomes available at a rival paper mill.

Aware that newly unemployed erstwhile contemporaries will also be competing for the job, Man-Soo must do whatever it takes to increase his chances of securing the role, though it soon becomes apparent that he is ill-suited to the grim task at hand. The latest from Park (The Handmaiden, Oldboy) sees the director apply his signature visual dynamism and droll humour to an adaptation of Donald Westlake’s acclaimed 1997 Novel, The Ax.
Screening is taking place in Cinema 2. There are loads of tickets left as of Wednesday afternoon, but it’s best to be safe than sorry and book in advance,
I’ll be in the foyer from 11.40 am with my purple baseball hat.
As the film is starting early there will be plenty of time for the after film chat.
I'm in seat F8.
See you all there,
Martin
