Moonlight Paddle on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage

Details

Although the Full Moon is on Saturday night, the forecast is for thunderstorms and low clouds, so we are going to paddle on Sunday night, August 10th, meeting at Sturgeon Bay Landing on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. I would like to start paddling by 8 pm so we will be able to enjoy the sunset, and then it will be almost an hour while the sky darkens before the moon rises, officially at 9:08 pm, but actually a little later before it clears the trees. It's okay to bring a flashlight, but please save it for the landing, since using it on the water will destroy everyone's night vision. Besides, with the big moon, there will be plenty of light from the sky and reflecting from the water. Night paddles are some of my favorites, and if you've never done it, Sunday night is your chance! Canoes and kayaks welcome.
