Loony Paddlers (women) will paddle the Flambeau River from Robinson to Holt

Details

Next Wednesday, August 20, we are going to paddle the N Fork of the Flambeau from Robinson Landing to Holt. As of Monday, the outflow from the dam was down to 449 cfs, which will still be enough to float our boats, but a little rain between now and then would be a good thing. This beautiful stretch of river has only a couple of houses, and seven named rapids, Class l & ll, in it's 9.8 mile length. This will probably take us more than 4 hours to paddle, so be sure to bring sunscreen, and plenty of water and lunch or at least a snack. We will try to find a breezy place to pull over for a break along the way. Because of the length of this paddle, I would like to meet at Robinson Landing at 8:30 a.m. To reach the landing from Mercer take Hwy 51 north to Club 51, turn left onto County FF and drive 14.3 miles. Turn left on Turtle Flambeau Dam Road and drive 2.3 miles. Turn right onto Upper Flambeau River Boat Landing Road and drive 0.5 miles to the landing. It is about a 30 minute drive from Mercer.
The carpool will meet at Club 51, to leave by 7:50 a.m. If you plan to participate or caravan with them, please be sure to "Reply ALL" so everyone can see who is coming. I will meet you at Robinson Landing.
