Loony Padders (women) paddle/hike Palmer Lake to Tenderfoot Lake

This week we are going to paddle across Palmer Lake and through the channel to Tenderfoot Lake. We will cross Tenderfoot to the Guido Rahr Sr Wilderness Nature Conservancy property and take a short hike there. When we return to our boats, we will either picnic at the dock, or if the bugs are bad, take a floating picnic out over the lake. Please bring shoes for walking and pack a lunch and drink! There are no rapids in that channel.

We will meet at the Palmer Lake Ramp, (Land O'Lakes) at 9:00 a.m. There is no shuttle. When I looked up the route on Google Maps, it said the landing is Permanently Closed, but then I drove there and saw no sign of closing that landing. To reach the landing from Mercer, take Hwy 51 south 16.8 miles. Left onto Bakken Rd, 1.2 miles, then slight left onto County Road H for 3.8 miles. Turn right onto Cty K, 2.2 mi. into Boulder Junction, then left on Cty M 4.8 mi. Turn right onto Cty B, 7.7 miles, then left onto Palmer Lake Road, 2.3 miles. (Be sure to stay to the left when you reach the intersection with Big Lake Landing Road.) It is a 50 minute drive from Mercer. The carpool from Mercer will meet at Faith Lutheran Church parking lot on Kichak Landing Rd, across Cty J from the school, leaving at 8:00 a.m. When you sign up, please let me know where you will meet us.
