Help Needed to Get Ready for the Winter Season at MECCA Trails
Details
We are looking for volunteers to help get the Chalet ready for the Winter season. We’ll have three teams, one focusing on cleaning the Chalet, another to process firewood, and a third to prepare snacks and lunch for volunteers.
*Volunteers will be treated to morning coffee and bakery break and a lunch.
Date: November 13, Thursday, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM. In case of inclement weather the work day will be moved to date TBD.
- Firewood details
 - 4 - 6 volunteers
 - Wood processing
 - Some chainsawing
 - Use of wood splitter to split wood
 - Stack wood in woodshed
 - What to bring
 - Dress for the weather
 - Appropriate footwear -boots
 - Gloves, eye and ear protection
 - Water or beverage for hydration (MECCA will have water and beverages for volunteers also)
 - Chalet details
 - 3-4 volunteers
 - Inside winter season cleaning tasks
 - Remove all screens and put them in storage.
 - Vacuum everything, make sure to get into log crevices (flies)
 - Wipe all logs with Murphy’s Oil Soap
 - Clean windows
 - Clean fan and ceiling light fixtures
 - Each volunteer should bring: Gloves, rags, and ear protection
 - Snack & Lunch prep.
 - 2 volunteers to work with Peggy Bronsberg (Email Peggy at 2indawoods@gmail.com to let her know you would like to help with morning break and/or lunch)
 - Morning break
 - Setup and monitor a snack and beverage area
 - Lunch
 - Setup, and monitor lunch items
 - Some prep of lunch items
 - Setup tables
 - Setup a hand cleaning station
