Carmen Herrera (https://es.linkedin.com/in/carherrero ) is an innovation researcher and data scientist at the Big Data Analytics group of Eurecat, where they do different projects in mobility, tourism, and smart cities.

BCN Data Engineering hosts events where lead engineers & data scientists from pre-screened companies present talks on their projects for the benefit of the data community. Many European companies are doing amazing things with data and we've created this event to help them showcase their work and help other engineers level up.

Carmen started her career at the Marine Science Institute in Barcelona, where she obtained a Ph.D. in physical oceanography studying the effect of the ocean on climate during long time periods. Besides this, she's an enthusiastic traveler, a passionate photographer (http://www.carmenherrero.com/) and recently became a mom!
