2024 Catskill Firetower Challenge: Overlook Mountain Hike

This summer lets hike to the six fire towers in the 2024 Catskill Fire Tower Challenge. Starting with Overlook Mountain one of my favorite hikes in the Catskills. A single trail climbs steadily to the top of Overlook Mountain where a fire tower is located. The trail follows an old carriage road that once transported guests in the late 19th century to the Overlook Mountain House. It's ruins are visible from the trail. One-way distance - 2.4 miles. Ascent is a gradual but nonstop incline-1370 feet. Bring your own snacks and water. Poor weather /driving conditions or too small a group will postpone to another date. Moderately strenuous hike.
