Summary: For years, I was told by my colleagues a Home lab was a waste of time. However, I kept building on to my home lab leveling-up my skillset along the way allow me to command a higher salary. It's so important to be able to play around with tool sets and see what breaks them and learn why. Standing up your own environment gives you a much deeper understanding of how everything works and more importantly how it works. Spending more time on building your own internal lab allows you to break out of the corporate technical box you were put in; many of us only get to work on small elements of an entire environment. In my presentation, I intend to explain what a lab has done for me and my career and what I believe it can do for yours! I will provide resources as to what to use, how to start, and how to maintain your lab; all on a budget.
