🌊✨ Firefly Squid Scooping ✨🌊
We invite you to join a nighttime coastal experience to scoop glowing firefly squid in spring.

🦑 The firefly squid is a small squid that comes ashore along Toyama Bay in spring. At night, it emits a blue bioluminescent glow, creating a striking natural phenomenon that is widely regarded as one of Japan’s iconic seasonal sights.
Firefly squid scooping is an activity in which participants collect squid that have come ashore using nets or hand nets while illuminating the surface of the sea with lights. The experience is highly dependent on natural conditions such as weather, waves, and the level of squid arrival.
The firefly squid is also highly valued as a seasonal food and is commonly enjoyed boiled, with vinegar miso sauce, or as soy-marinated “okizuke.”

👥 Eligibility
Open to anyone (individual or group participation welcome)

💰 Participation fee
5,000 JPY per person (based on actual costs; may vary depending on number of participants and conditions)

📝 Registration deadline
Applications must be submitted by Wednesday due to vehicle arrangements.

22:30 - Meet at Kanazawa Station West Exit Parking Lot
April 18 (Sat)
Around 00:00 – Arrival at site
After arrival – Approximately 3 hours of firefly squid scooping (subject to conditions)
Around 05:00 – Disband at Kanazawa Station

🎒 Clothing & items
👕 Warm clothing suitable for wet conditions (windproof and cold-resistant recommended)
🥾 Waterproof boots or shoes
🔦 Light (headlamp or handheld flashlight)
🪣 Container for collected squid (bucket or bag)
🧻 Towel and spare clothes if necessary
Basic equipment is sufficient; however, better equipment improves comfort, safety, and efficiency, allowing for a more enjoyable experience.

🚗 Vehicle operation
If the number of participants exceeds 5, two vehicles will be used for safety and comfort.
Drivers are kindly requested to declare their availability in advance.

This event is highly dependent on natural conditions. The schedule is approximate and may change or be canceled depending on weather, sea conditions, or squid arrival.
We cannot guarantee successful scooping of firefly squid.

春の夜の海で、幻想的な光を放つホタルイカを掬いに行きましょう！

🦑 ホタルイカは春の富山湾に接岸する小型のイカで、夜間に青白く発光する特徴があります。この発光現象は幻想的で、春の風物詩として知られています。
ホタルイカ掬いは、この接岸した個体を網や手網で掬う体験です。
ホタルイカは食材としても非常に人気があり、茹で・酢味噌・沖漬けなどの料理で広く楽しまれています。

📍開催場所 富山湾 周辺沿岸（当日の状況により決定）
📍集合場所 金沢駅西口駐車場

👥対象 誰でも参加可（1人参加・複数参加いずれも可）

💰参加費用 5000円 / 人（実費ベース・当日の人数および状況により多少変動可能性あり） ※主な内訳：レンタカー代・ガソリン代・高速料金など

📝申込締切 車の手配が必要なので、参加申し込みは水曜日までです

到着後～約3時間　ホタルイカ掬い実施（当日の状況により変動）
5:00前後　金沢駅にて解散予定

🎒服装・持ち物
👕 濡れてもよい暖かい服装（防寒・防風を意識）
🥾 長靴または濡れてもよい靴 🔦 ライト（ヘッドライト・ハンドライトなど手持ちのもので可）
🪣 ホタルイカを入れる容器（バケツ・袋など）
🧻 タオル、必要に応じて着替え
※本格的な装備がなくても、ライトと防寒があれば参加可能です （もちろん、本格的な装備があるほど快適性・安全性・作業性が向上し、より本格的にホタルイカ掬いを楽しめます）

参加人数が5名を超える場合は、安全性と快適性の観点から2台体制での運用とします 🚗
