Islington Poets Workshop

We’re the Islington Stanza of The Poetry Society — a lovely bunch of local(ish) poets of mixed levels and ability. You don't need to be a previously published poet to join us, though that's brilliant if you are! Anyone is welcome.

We meet once a month for a poetry workshop. Each writer brings copies of the work they want feedback on — be it a traditional poem or prose poem — reads it aloud to the group and can expect 4-6 mins of live feedback. We circulate final numbers ahead of time so you know how many copies to bring. Join us a little earlier for a few pints, or stay after for the same!

We welcome constructive criticism so if you're a bit sensitive or have never shared your work before do let us know and our members will take that into consideration when providing feedback.

This event is free of charge, but please do support our local pub hosts with a pint/drink at the bar as they comp us the space.
