Assuring Quality without a dedicated QA Team

The team at Bizzabo, a rapidly growing startup developing the world’s most loved event software, deliberately decided to go without a dedicated QA Team. In this talk Noam will share the way they handle quality using test automation, their experiences and challenges, and above all, the lessons they’ve learned along the way.

Noam Whartman, Front-End developer and automation owner at Bizzabo

During his military service as head of the Early Warning technology sector in the Home Front Command, Noam came across a variety of manual QA processes in numerous companies and large scale projects. Following his military service Noam studied Information System Engineering at Ben-Gurion university, and joined the Bizzabo R&D team during his last year of studies as a Front-End Developer. Noam is also the Owner of the Front-End automation framework and testing guidelines at Bizzabo. Noam is a strong endorser of quality driven development and automation testing in particular.

Beyond Page Objects

Almost every automation developer working with Selenium is familiar with the Page Object pattern. But there’s much more to design patterns and test automation than that! In this talk, after reviewing the Page Object pattern itself and some tips for implementing it correctly, we’ll discuss additional patterns that are useful in test automation. We’ll also discuss a more general way to model the application under tests in a proper object-oriented fashion.
