In the ever-evolving SaaS landscape, ensuring robust data security and effectively managing data changes are intrinsically connected. Proactive production monitoring provides the foundation for secure data handling, while a well-implemented Change Data Capture (CDC) system enables agile response to data alterations. In our upcoming meetup, "Mastering Data Security and CDC: Proactive Production Monitoring and Building a Scalable System", will address these intertwined aspects of SaaS development. By fostering a deeper understanding of how vigilant monitoring complements CDC systems, we aim to empower you with a more holistic view of managing data in a complex software environment. Join us for an enlightening exploration into these key components that together drive the success of any SaaS platform.

On the Agenda

18:00-18:30 Socializing, mingling, and of course delicious snacks 🍕🍺

18:30-19:15 Mastering Data Security: Proactive Production Monitoring with an Alert-Oriented Approach // Sagi Mymon, Engineering Team Leader, Ownbackup
When operating within a SAAS company, where security and privacy are paramount, one of the most significant hurdles is monitoring and logging data effectively to avoid any compromise of customers’ data.
If you face challenges with efficiently monitoring your production or work in a data security company, this talk is tailored to your needs. In this session, I will delve into the process my team undertook to overcome this challenge and share the actions we implemented to reach our current level of success.
*The lecture will be delivered in Hebrew

A Few words about Sagi:
Greetings, I am Sagi Mymon, an accomplished Engineering Manager at OwnBackup and a highly sought-after public speaker. With over a decade of experience in software development, including eight years in software development management roles, I have worked in multiple B2B companies and gained diverse expertise in different architectures.
My passion for technology is insatiable, and I hold an MBA in business administration, specifically for technology companies. When I’m not innovating and leading technological breakthroughs, I indulge in my love for sports and fitness by regularly hitting the gym, all while enjoying the latest hits in music.

19:15-20:00 Building a CDC - Easier said than done? // Sigal Shaharabani ,Tech and Group Leader at Tikal
So you've implemented a Change Data Capture (CDC) system in your architecture, but after you finish writing your code and deploying, you realize things are not just as you expected. Now you are forced to deal with scale difficulties, formats, integrations, deployment, and more even though you used an ‘off the shelf’ product.
These are the exact same challenges I’ve faced while building a CDC system for 18 months for a big cyber company, however by the time we were done the system was up-and-running, built to scale, and able to handle errors.
In this talk I will share my experience and tips from building a CDC system, to help developers and architects to better prepare for the journey, surprises, and challenges along the way.

A Few words about Sigal:
Sigal is a Tech and Group Leader in Tikal, with a great passion for backend and data systems. She started her technological career way back in 1996, working for the government, a variety of corporations, and small start-ups. Her favorite programming language is Kotlin, and will love any excuse to talk about it. In her spare time she enjoys swimming and Israeli folk dancing.
