October 21 Istanbul ClickHouse Meetup

On Friday evening, October 21, P.I. Works and Altinity will host an in-person ClickHouse meetup on Istanbul Asian side. Here is what we currently have while we build the schedule.

The doors open at 16:00. We'll mingle for a while before starting talks.

• Fun ways to speed up your data in ClickHouse by Alexander Zaitsev, Altinity CTO: Most people who use ClickHouse are aware of its speed. How did it come to be that way, though? We'll give you a brief overview of ClickHouse and demonstrate some of our favorite tips for making it function perfectly. Compression, materialized views, sharding, partitioning tricks, and more!
• Usual and not so usual applications of ClickHouse by Fehmi Can Aksakal, Djakhongir Siradjev, P.I.Works: The most typical usage of ClickHouse is for ad-hoc analytics over large fact table (click stream/ads analytics, structured log analysis, sensors metrics). We'll introduce tips and tricks on ClickHouse tuning for various common and uncommon scenarios, cover various pitfalls and workarounds. We'll also discuss great-to-have features for ClickHouse to make it more scalable and applicable for higher number of use-cases.
• Backup and Restore Methods in ClickHouse by Emrah Idman, ChistaDATA: Backup is a fundamental safeguard against unexpected data loss. This talk will describe backup/restore methods available in ClickHouse, discuss point in time recovery, and show how to automate backups processes.
• (Lightning Talk) ClickHouse SQL Games by Ramazan Polat:
  2 examples of really simple text games developed only with native CH SQL using SQL functions and Materialized Views.
