What we’re about
About the group
This is a group for anyone interested in being involved in the Maker Movement by collaborating on making things. The goal is to build a community around this mentality, where members will have the opportunity to learn new things and a medium to share their ideas and thoughts. Working languages are English and Turkish.
Why now?
Thanks to cheap and easy access to production tools as well as open hardware and software, the third industrial revolution, "The Maker Movement" is upon us. This is the perfect time to jump in and become a producer instead of a consumer. I've started this group because I've always been passionate about making things and would love to meet and collaborate with like minded individuals.
Some topic ideas
• Designing objects using free CAD software such as TinkerCad and Autodesk 123Design
• Prototyping objects using 3D Printers and other rapid production tools
• Usage of open source hardware such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi with electronic actuators to give "life" to robots and other devices
• Programming using open source software to make our creations think and do things
• Doing interesting projects we come up with together and maybe getting them crowdfunded.
The goal is to meet every other week, work on making things together and most importantly, have fun while at it. :)
