The Italian Learners Book Club: Reading #9 of Io non ho paura

Details

Let's continue with READING #9

Join us as we read the acclaimed Italian novel "Io non ho paura" by Niccolò Ammaniti from start to finish. These sessions are for Italian language learners at an intermediate learning level.

For those joining us midway through these readings, a summary of the prior readings is available if needed.

You do not have to purchase the book - we will share a digital copy on-screen during the meeting. We will gather in small breakout rooms where each participant reads a short section of the text in Italian. We will help each other with comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar.

Hope to see you there! Ci vediamo presto!

If you are a native Italian speaker and would like to help our participants with their Italian language skills, please message me on Meetup.

About "Io non ho paura"

Amid that sea of golden wheat, nine-year-old Michele Amitrano discovers a secret so momentous, so terrible, that he dares not tell anyone about it. To come to terms with it he will have to draw strength from his imagination and sense of humanity. The reader witnesses a dual story: the one that is seen through Michele's eyes, and the tragedy involving the adults of this isolated hamlet. The result is an immensely powerful, lyrical and skillfully narrated novel, its atmosphere reminiscent of Tom Sawyer, Stephen King's Stand By Me and Italo Calvino's Italian Fairy Tales.

Our Mission: Together to Connect, Develop, Encourage and Serve.
La Nostra Missione: Insieme per Connetterci, Sviluppare, Incoraggiare e Servire.
