What if the story behind Leonardo’s Last Supper actually begins in the quiet corners of Florence?
Join us for a captivating virtual tour with slides and discover a hidden artistic tradition that most visitors never notice.
In Florence, throughout the 15th century, many convents were decorated with large scenes of the Last Supper — the Cenacoli quattrocenteschi. These weren’t displayed in museums, but painted inside dining halls, where monks gathered each day surrounded by these powerful images.
During this experience, we’ll explore some of the most fascinating examples in the city, including the elegant interpretation by Perugino in the Convent of Fuligno and the remarkable work by Domenico Ghirlandaio in San Marco.
As we move from one place to another, you’ll see how artists gradually transformed this scene — making it more realistic, more emotional, and more engaging.
And little by little, something begins to change.
These are not just repeated versions of the same subject… they are steps in an artistic evolution.
An evolution that leads to the most famous interpretation of all:
Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper — the ultimate masterpiece.
Sit back, relax, and let us take you on this unique journey… from the hidden Cenacoli of Florence to one of the most iconic works in the world.
