End of June Canine Cavorting!

Dear Dog Hikers:
Try, try again. It's hard to believe with all this rain, but eventually our local hiking trails will be dry and Sarah and I are planning the next hike, which is the re-do of our aborted first hike location at Monkey Run on Saturday, June 28, at 9:30 AM.

This is a beautiful hike, a moderate trail and there are places the dogs can play in the water.

Looking forward to a pleasant hike with some new friends-- 2-legged and 4! *I haven't been on this hike, so the following information is from online sources*. This trail is considered "moderate", with some potential for slippery areas or mud, but most reviews suggest it is reasonably well-maintained. It is a 2.7 mile loop, predicted to be ~1 hr (but we'll take it slow and let the dogs sniff what they'd like to sniff, so probably a fair bit longer). Please note, dogs must remain on leash.

Directions to parking: From downtown Ithaca, follow E. Green St and merge into E. State St. At the second traffic light, turn left on Route 366 East. Continue to follow Route 366 for 3.7 miles until you reach Monkey Run Rd. on the left. Turn left and the parking area is at the end of the road. Parking is limited, so it may become necessary to park on shoulder of monkey run rd (dead end street) if turnout is large.
