Gurdjieff in today's world

Details
Curious about how to live more consciously in a chaotic world?
Join us for a conversation about the Gurdjieff Work—a powerful inner practice designed to help people wake up, live with intention, and stay grounded amid the noise and stress of modern life.
Originally introduced during the upheaval of pre–World War I Russia, Gurdjieff’s work is just as relevant today. He created a way for people to reconnect with their deeper sense of purpose through real, consistent inner effort. As he put it, he aimed to build conditions where a person is “continually reminded of the sense and aim of [their] existence”—not by escaping life, but by facing it with awareness.
This isn’t just theory. The Work is a living, practical path that’s shared in groups around the world. It involves meditation, guided group meetings, movements (sacred dance) music, and intentional work with others—designed to help you build awareness and unlock potential that would otherwise remain dormant.
In this intro series, we’ll explore:
- How higher human capacities—beyond thoughts, feelings, and sensations—exist within each of us but are usually blocked.
- Why conscious evolution is possible, but only through intentional effort.
- What it means to “wake up” in daily life, and how a real aim and real method can make that possible.
If you’re looking for more than surface-level mindfulness or passive self-help—if you feel the need for something deeper, more honest, and more challenging—this could be what you’ve been seeking.
