### ❓ FAQs
Do I need a fishing license to participate?
Yes — if you're 16 to 64 years old, you need a Florida saltwater fishing license to fish from the pier.
How do I get one?
You can grab one easily through any of these options:
- 📱 Mobile App: Download the Fish|Hunt FL app (iOS or Android)
- 🌐 Online: Visit [GoOutdoorsFlorida.com](https://gooutdoorsflorida.com)
- 🏪 In Person: Available at Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, and local bait shops
If you're under 16 or a Florida resident over 65, you're exempt.

### ❓What if I’ve never fished before?
No problem! This event is beginner-friendly. We’ll have experienced folks around who can show you the basics—how to bait a hook, cast a line, and (hopefully) reel something in. You don’t need to be a pro to have fun.
***
What should I bring?
We recommend:
- A fishing rod and reel
- Bait or lures (we’ll have frozen bait available while supplies last)
- A small cooler or bucket
- A chair or stool (optional)
- Sunscreen, water, bug spray
- A hat, good vibes, and your best fish stories
And while you might think I'm crazy...
- I personally recommend you wear long sleeve shirt and full length pants with full socks - this way when the bugs come out later you don't get eaten alive. But it's your choice.
***
Can I bring my kids or family?
Absolutely! This is a family-friendly event. Just make sure little ones are supervised at all times—there’s open water and fishing gear involved.
***
Can I just hang out without fishing?
Totally! Come enjoy the sunset, meet some cool people, and relax. No rod required to have a good time.
***
What kind of fish can we catch at the pier?
Common catches include:
- Sheepshead
- Snook
- Mackerel
- Jack Crevalle
- Mangrove Snapper
- And the occasional surprise!
***
Is there parking at the pier?
Yes, there’s paid parking available in the nearby pier lots and garages. Street parking may also be available. We recommend arriving a little early to find a good spot. Use the ParkMobile app - if you park in the pier parking lot, this will let you extend your parking easily. Expect to spend about $5-10 on parking.
