One night beginner backpacking (~5 miles each way, out and back)

Details
Ever want to try backpacking?
Here's the one BEGINNERS BACKPACKING event that I'm going to run this year.
I'm not going to call it easy but it isn't hard (IMO)
Please read ALL the details...
No deposit this time but if you bail on the day of the event, you won't be coming with us again
The Plan:
about 5 miles each way - out and back hike, only about 700ft elevation
Meet at the Mead Rd parking lot at the Loyalsock Trailhead - Mead Rd Dushore PA - there's no cell service here so make sure you have this in your GPS well before getting to the area
On Mead Rd just after you turn onto it from Rt 220
We'll meet in the parking lot and get our gear ready then hike in together
Also, since I'm not capping this but parking space is limited and some may be relying on others for rides, if you bail out last minute...I'm not going to like you very much and you know what that means for future events
What you need to bring:
backpacking backpack - don't attempt this with anything that's not meant for backpacking
hiking boots (hiking sneakers may be ok but I don't recommend them) - tennis sneakers, flip flops, cross fit shoes are not good enough
water bottles (any are fine but I recommend ones with clips and maybe look into a Lifestraw bottle - have built in filters that you can fill from streams)
Food - you have to bring your own, whatever is going to work for you for snacks, dinner and breakfast.
backpacking tent - you want a lightweight tent - don't attempt this with a large, heavy tent that you may use for car camping
medium duty sleeping bag - it could get cool at night
small shovel and toilet paper - it's backpacking...the only bathroom is in the woods
swim suit! yes, we should be camping close to water we can play in!
optional: beers (if you can carry them), other beverages of choice, backpacking chair, liquor (plastic containers, DONT bring glass)
We don't go to bed early - if you have a problem with people staying up by the fire until 2am or 3am, don't set up your tent near the fire, or don't come
If all goes well, we'll be at the campsite by 3pm or so...that means we'll have a good amount of time to set up, get a fire going and hang out...play in the creek...that's a lot of time...so good to have a good amount of beverages available - my personal suggestion is a plastic bottle with vodka or tequila and then mix it with filtered water from the stream and throw in some MIO or Crystal Light mix
Guests are not allowed - they must sign up with IBO (the group) to come - it's easy and free to sign up, I just want to make sure the have all the details and get all the messages
When you RSVP, make sure I have your phone number and email address (that you check daily). Either include it in the RSVP note or email me afterwards. Otherwise I will reach out to you for it and if I do not hear back, I'll remove you from the event - I need to know you're getting messages and will be in communication about the event. (Don't worry, it shouldn't be too much)
For the beginners/first timers: this event is specifically geared towards you so it's meant to be an open discussion including answering your questions, offering suggestions and advice and helping your prepare - feel free to put it out there if you are thinking it. Also note, there's not always one correct answer, many answers will be opinion based so consider that
