What we’re about

Welcome to the It’s About Wine…and Fun Times group in San Antonio!  Basically we are a social group with a passion for good wine and fun times. Anyone who enjoys wine, craft beer, live music and fun is welcome.

As your event organizer, I hope to bring my own spin of fun and variety to the It's About Wine…and Fun Times group. I was an Event Leader for the Adventure Club of San Antonio over 9 years where I led events focused on wine tastings and live music events so I enjoy pairing the two when I can. I am always looking for more help though because planning events while working full-time is time-consuming so if you are interested in contributing as a co-organizer and having your dues waived, please let me know.

We do a variety of meet-ups (1-4 events a month or more). These are the kinds of events to expect, member suggestions always welcome:

  • Wine bars, Happy Hours, Restaurant wine dinners, possibly music events where they have wine :-)
  • Tastings, wine education classes
  • Vineyard trips/tours, attending wine focused festivals and events as a group
  • Live music shows
  • Craft beer tastings & distilleries
  • Festivals involving wine, music, or beer
  • Exploring great places to dine

Please take note of the group rules below. I look forward to meeting everyone!  Sandy

Dues:
If you are accepted into the group, you will have a 30-day free trial period to try out the group. After that, you will need to pay the $5 yearly dues to continue to attend events. This is a very small fee for all you will be getting from this group and helps me considerably in paying the high costs of being a Meet Up organizer. Payment of dues should be done using either CASH, ZELLE, VENMO or CASH APP ONLY. My cash app ID is $finewinechic, Zelle and Venmo use my phone please 210-380-2871. Handing me a $5 bill at an event prior to the 30 day trial deadline is acceptable also and I will instantly change your status to active. The yearly dues are not refundable once paid.

Meet Up sends trial members a notice to pay after 30 days using Stripe. DO NOT PAY THIS WAY. Stripe takes a .88 cent cut for every $5 payment. As an organizer, I pay $190 every 6 months for a total of $380 to organize and plan your events. Stripe does not pay me for months after payments are made and does not notify me of who has paid! Again, pay your dues using the methods specified only.

Code of Conduct:
We want to provide a friendly, welcoming and fun environment for everyone. Most Meetup locations are public places so also please be respectful to all patrons and waitstaff.

Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct. Harassment includes: offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability; inappropriate physical touching/contact and unwanted sexual attention. This is not a dating app site.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Engaging in unacceptable behavior may lead to the event organizer taking appropriate action up to and including removal from the group.

RSVPing for events:
Some events have low attendance due to the Owner of the facility's request so spaces are very sought after and waitlists often occur. If you cannot attend an event, please remove your RSVP at the bottom of the sign in area at least 24 hours before an event to give others an opportunity to attend. This is both a matter of common courtesy and an important rule of membership. If you fail to show up for an event you signed up for 3 different times, it is grounds for removal from the group. Don't be that person.

Disclaimer: On any scheduled event, all food, drink and any expenses for activities are each individual’s responsibility unless otherwise noted.
