TOPIC: How Has Philosophy Failed Us?

Have you ever cringed at the idea of sharing with someone that you are interested in Philosophy? About explaining how you follow a particular school of philosophy, or that you are part of some sort of philosophy cult?
Maybe you are not alone! (...but why does the above happen?)

Many of us have heard about the concept of the Ivory Tower, but what has been its impact on Philosophy?

First of all, what's even the importance of philosophy?
How can we make it more accessible to others?
Or how could we even sneak it in into more people's lives without them even being aware of it?

But why do we even assume people need this in their lives?
(...probably the guys playing Warhammer 300 think the same about our lives and all we are missing out.)
