I had a lot of people volunteer to help at the Hope House on Thanksgiving but we need help there all the time. We have tried making a monthly volunteer night, people sign up and then cancel last minute. That really makes it hard to plan so I am changing how I do this.

If you would like to volunteer they have asked us to provide a meal on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Women's Shelter. This is a MUCH smaller job than our Thanksgiving meal was

Here are the details

• The food costs about $100 to feed the residents. I charge $20 to sign up. This will go towards the food we prepare. That way if someone cancels, we still have the food we promised to provide
• only 15-30 shelter guests for the monthly meals, we will be notified the week before of the head count
• 3-5 volunteers needed
• The shelter asks that after everyone is served the volunteers prepare their own plates and sit with the guests to eat dinner with them
• kitchen helpers will clean up so we just provide the food, cook it, serve and go

For security reasons, the building is VERY non-descript and has no signage. It is on the corner and looks like a normal apartment building with a fence around the side.
