D's get Degrees!

This is not a graduation party. It is not a formal gathering. It is not even a particularly well organized event, if we are being honest. It is a survival celebration. A gathering of mildly functioning humans to honor the fact that I did not combust during a semester of full-time school, a full-time social work job, a part-time wedding officiant gig, and somehow still found time to organize meetups for people who behave like syphilis addled koala bears in cargo shorts.

Spoiler alert: one of those koalas is probably you. And I still love you.

Let the record show that last semester my GPA was a sparkling 3.85. This semester? Not even close. This semester’s GPA is taking the scenic route through the academic basement. But you know what? D’s get degrees. And I passed Spanish, just barely, which was the academic equivalent of wrestling a greased pig while blindfolded and being quizzed on irregular verbs.

La victoria es victoria, mi amigos.

Gatherall is a fancy mall food court with a bar in the middle so there will be food and beverages. If you are feeling generous, I like brownies. I also accept offerings of drinks, hugs, and mildly supportive grunts.
