🌟 Brand Library & Art Center: Crossings Exhibit, Gardens, Hike & Picnic

Join me for a free, fun and inspiring Saturday morning at the Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale!

This meetup combines art, nature, and light adventure—perfect for anyone who loves exploring, learning, and meeting new people. Expect to spend about 3 to 3.5 hours together.

What We’ll Do

Explore the new Crossings Exhibit (~45 min)

Curated by Elizabeth Munzón and Mister Toledo, this exhibit highlights artists navigating their American identities while honoring their ancestral roots.

Enjoy works by Latin American, AANHPI, Middle Eastern, and other immigrant communities.

Tour the Historic Brand Mansion & Library (~30 min)

Discover the architecture, collections, and special art displays of this iconic space.

Stroll the Gardens & Japanese Teahouse (~20 min)

Relax and take in the serene gardens, fountains, and peaceful outdoor spots—great for photos!

Light Hike in Brand Park / Verdugo Mountains (~45–60 min)

Enjoy a 1–1.5 mile loop with scenic views of Glendale and the surrounding mountains. Moderate incline, suitable for most fitness levels.

Picnic & Cool Down (~15–20 min)

Bring your own snacks or drinks to relax and chat in the garden after the hike.

What to Bring

• Comfortable shoes for walking and light hiking
• Water (water bottle)
• Snacks and/or fruits (e.g. jerky, trail mix, chips, etc)
• Picnic Lunch: Please pack your own lunch. This is not a potluck, but you’re welcome to bring a small item to share if you’d like. Otherwise, everyone is responsible for their own food.
• Layers for indoor/outdoor transitions
• Small backpack or bag
