American Defense Enterprises, Inc. has trained tens-of-thousands of civilians over the past twenty years--in addition to countless police and military personnel, international security teams, diplomatic security teams, university and law school security teams, synagogue security teams…the list is endless. On an entertainment level, they have trained numerous actors and stunt people for combat roles. They even provided some of the motion capture for the “James Bond” video game and the “Call of Duty” video game. On a lighter note, they have hosted countless corporate events and private parties (bachelor parties, birthday parties, family reunions, etc.).

ADE trains out of the Burro Canyon Shooting Park in Azusa (which is approximately 40 minutes northeast of downtown Los Angeles). The Burro Canyon Shooting Park is an outdoor range in the Angeles National Forest, with stunning views and lots of fresh air. So, you won’t be training in a lead-filled environment or in a cramped shooting bay. Also, this course includes LIVE-FIRE houseclearing ops using their police and military shoothouse (the same twelve-room shoothouse that LAPD trains at). This is invaluable training for learning how to protect yourself and your family within your home.

COMBAT HANDGUN I W/ SHOOTHOUSE OPS
(Beginner/Refresher)
This course takes shooters from the basics up through the defensive use of the handgun in a safe and controlled environment. If you’re a civilian who has never fired a gun before or haven’t shot in a long time, this is the course for you. But it's also a very popular "refresher" course for professional shooters--like active police and military personnel--because it breaks them of any bad habits, while increasing their speed and accuracy. Class size is kept small and there is a high instructor-to-student ratio, so you will feel as if you are in a semi-private lesson. In addition to combat handgun skills, you will also train in our police/military shoothouse. Note: You do not need to own a handgun to participate. One will be provided for a nominal fee (see note below).
Your training will include:
• Safe gun handling
• Marksmanship - hitting your target fast and accurately
• Holster presentations - presenting your weapon rapidly
• Controlled pairs - dramatically increasing follow-up shots and rate of fire
• Shooting from the “ready position” (the most often used combat position)
• Tactical reloading and emergency reloading
• After-action drills
• Engaging multiple opponents
• Shooting while moving
• Basic house-clearing techniques

IMPORTANT: You must call ADE to register. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required per person. Signing up through the Meetup system does NOT register you for this event. There are only six spaces open at this time.
WEAPONS/AMMO: You may train on your own handgun provided it is safe and suitable. But you do not need to own a handgun to train with ADE. They have a state-of-the-art armory and only charge a $20 cleaning/maintenance fee for the use of one of their handguns. Ammo will cost approximately $50. If you train on your own handgun, you may bring your own ammo. No steel core ammo.
