Hike Sugarloaf Mountain – Winery & Meal

A great way to get outside and escape the heat of DC. This is a 6-mile loop hike around the mountain culminating with a snack break at the peak for some fantastic scenic views. The trail is mostly of moderate difficulty.
Bring a mascot! The park is dog-friendly, but must be on a leash.

Good hiking shoes
Water
Snacks
Meet Time: 9:45 am

Departure Time: 10:00 sharp.
We should return to the parking lot no later than 3 pm. For those interested, we can continue on to drop by the winery at the foot of the mountain where they offer incredible home-made sangria! (http://www.smvwinery.com/). Then we’ll head out to enjoy a hearty meal at Bassetts (http://www.bassettsrestaurant.net/) over in nearby Poolesville.
In your RSVP please indicate if you need a ride. If you are coming by car and wouldn’t mind picking someone up at a convenient metro stop, please indicate how many people you can take. Hopefully we’ll have enough room for everyone. I can pick up three at the at the Rosslyn metro (Blue/Orange/ Grey) at the east exit on N. Moore St. Carpoolers, please chip in generously for gas.
