Where is Design Heading? - The Future Designer

Details

The design industry is facing an identity crisis fueled by economic uncertainty. What is our next step? What is our north star?
For once, we should step out of our own bubble and hear what a design anthropologist has to say about our discipline. And then, challenge the author on his ideas.

In his book, Michael Leube offers practical examples, methods and tools for implementing sustainable approaches in the work of experienced designers. Supported by a vast body of literature in evolutionary science and design research, the book presents a blueprint for fostering more sustainable patterns of production and consumption.

Michael grew up in the Silicon Valley, studied at the University of California at Berkeley, at the University of Vienna, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Zagreb. He teaches at several Universities across many countries, also at MOME Interaction Design, Budapest.

What to expect:

  • Presentation about the future role of design by Michael Leube
  • Hard Talk on current realities, societal challenges, layoffs and futures
  • Open roundtable with the audience
