You may be ‘open to work’, hesitantly sharing a green ring around your profile on LinkedIn.
But what work are you open to? And what work is open to you? Do you know? How can the experience be made better?
The design industry feels like it’s in a difficult place. Some of us have endured similar difficulties before. For some, it’s all new. For those that have experienced similar, this time, it feels different. More worrying. Possibly scary.
As part of IxDA London’s identity chrysalis, we wanted to adapt our typical curation approach to the needs of people like you. Those of you who find themselves out of work. Looking for the next thing. Working out what is right for you. Maybe going through an identity crisis or chrysalis yourself.
In the session we hope to:
- Engage in helpful reflection on who you are and what you want facilitated by Jason Mesut who has a lot of useful tools, perspectives and experience on this topic as a recovering design leader, a leadership coach and a shaper of designers
- Share perspectives and strategies to get back to work based on the wider market context of those hiring and those seeking work. This will be led by Futureheads, an organisation that has been supporting IxDA London for over 12 years and the UK market for even longer
- Connect you and your experiences with others, so you can feel less alone, more connected, and supported by your peers
- Identify further needs and possible ways these can be supported in the future, by IxDA, Futureheads, other orgs and groups
