J-Ox - September Meet Up - with talks from Joseph Edney and João Ferrão

Details
Really looking forward to the next J-Ox event, where after a bit of peer pressure I have decided to do my own talk. Luckily we are joined by a proper pro, Joao who will be knowledge sharing around Kotlin and Java.
Speaker 1 now confirmed:
The World is YOUR Oyster
By Joseph Edney (Director and Principal Consultant @ Haybrook IT Resourcing
This will be a talk on why there are no limits at the minute to where your career can take you as a JVM focused Developer. I will talk through the opportunities available in the Java jobs market, salaries, the in demand technologies, how to go contracting, what recruiters look for on your CV, how to stand out from the crowd, market trends with nice data from Github, Stackoverflow, LinkedIn etc etc and everything I know from my 8 years of recruiting Java, (and Ruby, JS, C#, Python, C++, Scala, Kotlin) Developers within Oxfordshire for the biggest companies and brightest startups.
Speaker 2
Effective Java with Kotlin
By Joao Ferrao (Senior Software Architect @ TripAdvisor)
I'll be taking some of the concepts and examples described in the book "Effective Java" by Joshua Bloch and show how one can apply the same principles in an even more effective way using Kotlin.
This Event will be held in the Jam Factory, Oxford (by the train station etc with parking near by)
Haybrook IT have agreed to sponsor the event again (thank you). This will cover the beer tab and some snacks too.
