1st TCM Open Blitz Tournament

Some people asked us about tournaments, so let’s do it! The tournament will be at the lovely Fukagawa Ippuku Cafe, near Kiyosumi-shirakawa station.

It will be unrated, but otherwise played under tournament conditions: touch-move rule, no take backs, no unnecessary talking during play, etc. Rules will be explained in detail here and also on the day of the tournament.

Format: 6-round Swiss tournament. This means there’s no elimination: (almost) everyone gets to play every round, regardless of the games’ results. However, if there’s an odd number of players then 1 player will receive a bye each round.

Time control: 5+3, that is, 5 minutes per player plus 3 seconds increment per move.

Entry fee: 2500 yen to be paid in cash at the day of tournament.

Participants: minimum 8, maximum 12.

Tie-breakers: 1) direct encounter, 2) Buchholz (sum of opponents' scores), 3) number of games with black. Prizes: total 12000 yen. 1st place: 6000 yen, 2nd place 4000 yen, 3rd place 2000 yen. In case of ties even after tie-breakers are applied, prizes will be split.

Advanced and beginners alike are welcome. Just be sure you know the rules!

Chess sets and clocks will be provided by the organizer. Details are still subject to change. Feel free to RSVP now if you’re interested; it’s OK to cancel as long as you do it before the tournament day.

第1 TCMブリッツオープントーナメントをご案内します。会場は清澄白河駅の近くにあるどうぶつ将棋カフェいっぷくです。

非公式戦のためレイティングは付きませんが、原則FIDE競技ルールで実施されます。

フォーマット:スイス式、6ラウンド。

持ち時間:5分プラス3秒のフィッシャーインクレメント。

参加費:2500円。当日に現金での支払いとなります。

参加人数:最低人数が8名で最大人数が12人。

参加資格:チェスのルールが分かること。

タイプレーク:1)Direct encounter 2)Buchholz 3)黒番の対局が多い方。

賞: 総額賞金が1万2千円。1位は6千円、2位は4千円、3位は2千円与えられるとします。

盤、駒と対局時計は開催者に提供されますため、持参は不用です。
