**Who is [Silicon Allee](https://www.siliconallee.com/ "https://www.siliconallee.com/")?**
We are Berlin’s innovation network. Since 2011, we’ve been supporting the ecosystem as the city’s first English-language startup news site. Today, we fund and scale high-growth companies like [Vaayu](https://www.vaayu.tech/), [Kittl](https://www.kittl.com/), and [Finmid](https://finmid.com/).
In 2023, we joined forces with the [Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz Institut](https://www.hhi.fraunhofer.de/) to help deep tech founders turn groundbreaking research into market-ready products.
Our unique model supports founders working in AI, Wireless Communications, Photonics, Quantum, and Video/Image Technologies by providing:
* World-Class Resources: Access to Fraunhofer’s elite research, patents, and cutting-edge facilities.
* Product Development: Hands-on support to refine and build your core technology.
* Financial Runway: We hire your core team of three and provide full-time salaries for 12 months.
Ready to scale? [Visit our founders page for more info](https://www.siliconallee.com/founders/#program)!

“Do We Really Understand What We’re Building?” - Hands-on Example Mapping
Back in August, we explored how Design Thinking can help us uncover and validate the right problems. But even when we agree on what to build, things often go wrong, not because of bad solutions, but because we don’t fully understand what the problem actually means in practice.
In this session, we’ll build on that idea and focus on the next step: turning vague ideas into something concrete, shared, and testable.
Using Example Mapping - a lightweight technique from Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) - we’ll work in small groups to:
* Break down a feature into rules, examples, and questions
* Surface hidden assumptions and edge cases
* Align on what the behaviour of a system should actually look like
If the previous session was about finding the right problem, this one is about understanding it well enough to build it right.
This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to participate fully and add to the energy of the room. Looking forward to seeing you there!

***
Whenever you attend a meetup, the most common as well as first question you get is: "Where are you from?"
You probably heard this question a million times. Well, at least I did.
From my own experience of attending over 200 international meetups in various countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia and Thailand, I can tell you that asking for the name is a better approach.
“A person’s name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.” - Dale Carnegie
If you really want to connect with like-minded people you should remember their name, but you don't have to remember every persons name you've talked you. Be picky about that, don't be me who can somehow remember everyones name easily.
Don't tell yourself sth. like "I'm bad at remembering names." It's all about developing the habit of asking for a name and keep the conversation going on.
Furthermore, you want to learn German or any other language. Learning the local language is crucial to connect with the locals and developing a true friendship.
This can be accomplished with immersion. My goal is to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and improve yourself each time you join this meetup.

Chill Beach Volley 🏐 Funkhaus ☀️
Join us for chill **outdoor** beach volley at **Funkhaus Beach**! 🏐 🏐 🏐 ☀️
This event is for everyone who enjoys chill games and is not a *complete* beginner (A1.5+). We play 3v3 (or 4v4) with beach rules. There are no trainers at this event. Register via [the simultaneous event](https://www.meetup.com/berlin-volley/events/) for higher-level 2v2 matches (F1+).
After playing, you can join us for socials with drinks and snacks at the bar area. We often play a social deduction game, which you're also welcome to join.
We play in domes that are heated up to at least 15C.
It's recommended that you come 10 minutes early so you have time to change and find the fields. If it is your first time, 15 minutes might be even better.
You can join whatever court you like and move between courts during the event. We self-organize, so once you finish a game, you can start a rematch, mix with another court, or take a break as you see fit. Upon arrival, join the warmup happening on one of the courts.

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.

Whether you’re building modern cloud-native apps, experimenting with AI agents, deploying containers, automating infrastructure, or just beginning your Azure journey, this event is for you!
**What to Expect**
* Engaging technical sessions
* Real-world Azure architecture & cloud-native patterns
* AI, agents, automation, and modern DevOps

If you build, deploy, automate, scale, monitor, or optimize in Azure, you’ll feel right at home.
**Why Global Azure?**
Global Azure is a worldwide community event where Azure user groups host learning sessions on the same day across the globe. It’s grassroots. It’s technical. It’s practical. And it’s powered by people who genuinely love sharing what they’ve learned.
And yes, it’s free to attend!
Columbus Arduino Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts (CARPE) (Check Location)
Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration!
This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired.
**New to electronics or curious about tinkering?**
You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building.
While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
Columbus Code & Coffee 85 @ Improving
Columbus Code & Coffee is an inclusive, informal co-working session. People of all skill levels attend, and we love it that way. Many people (optionally) bring projects to work on, and many other people (optionally) socialize the entire time. It's entirely up to you!
**What to Expect at the Intro Circle**
\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~
Near the beginning of the event (1:30 pm), we do a standup:
* Organizer announcements, updates, and logistics
Round 1 - (7 secs max):
* Your name
* What you're working on
* What you can help others with
Round 2:
* Community events you wanna plug. If none, that's cool too.
Round 3:
* Job opportunities you're hiring for OR announce that you are looking for one. If none, that's cool.
After the introduction circle, everything is self-organized! Feel free to work alone, pair up, attend one of our workshops/presentations, or mingle!
What If Your AI Could Be a Team? - Chad Green
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.
