京都洋書読書会Meetup--Kyoto English Book Club Meetup

1. We'll discuss "Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus. (275 pages long)
Below is a synopsis of this book:
The story explores gender inequality and power of education often using cooking lessons. A very gripping story.
2. Participants are asked to have either read the whole book or at least
one third of it before the the meetup.
3. We'll meet on June 15th. The meetup is to start at 14:00 jst.
4. The venue will be at a place called "Cafe Veloce Karasuma Takoyakushi" located close to Shijo Subway Station. Close to the Subway Station Shijo alongside Karasuma-dohri (Karasuma Street).
5. What to discuss: your general impression of the story, what part was difficult for you to understand, how you liked the story, and so on. Our discussion will, hopefully, be entirely conducted in English.

１．洋書名："Lessons in Chemistry” 性別による不平等を取り扱った内容ですが、読み始めと引きつけられて最後まで読んでしまいたくなります。 長さは約300ページ弱。
２．各自で読了するのを基本とするが、ある程度(3分の１程度)読めていれば可。
３．日時　9月 21日 (日）１４時から
４．会場： Cafe Veloce 4条烏丸
5．話し合う内容：印象に残った個所、わかりづらかった個所、疑問に思っ
た箇所、作品に対する各自の評価、今後の予想される展開など。
なお、話し合 いに使う言語は英語とする。
