This Meetup group is for singles,or couples not Married, 45 plus who want to get together in the Jacksonville area for activities in a fun, safe environment.
We have a good variety of events, but are always considering new ideas, so please feel free to suggest some.

This is not a dating or hook-up group. If you meet someone organically, that's great. But please respect that the premise of this group is to meet new friends at various fun events without the "pressures" of the dating world.

Some basic group rules:

1. You must be at least 45 and live in the Jacksonville area.

2. Please be respectful to everyone in this group. Making everyone feel welcome and safe is our group's top priority.

3. Do not randomly reach out to other group members to make friends. Please do that through our group events first.

4. Honor your RSVP commitment to attend. If you change your mind, update the RSVP to not going. Do not use the RSVP as a placeholder until you decide whether or not you want to attend.

5. Don't RSVP to multiple events across different Meetup groups on the same day with similar start times. Organizers reserve the right to remove any member from an event's attenidng list if they are double booked for another event on the same day with a similar start time.
6. as a General Rule organizers of other Meet up Groups are not allowed in this Group
7. Don't be shy. We’re all strangers at some point. Come with positive vibes and energy. You'll fit right in with our energetic group.

acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation

I understand that all events organized by the Group are voluntary. I participate of my own free will and accept full responsibility for my safety, health, and behavior during any activity or social function arranged by the Group or its organizers, assistants, or volunteers.

2. Assumption of Risk

I am aware that group activities may include inherent risks, including but not limited to walking, dancing, kayaking, boating, hiking, dining, travel to and from venues, exposure to weather, and interaction with other participants. I voluntarily assume all risks of personal injury, illness, property loss, or other harm that may result from participation, whether or not caused by negligence.

3. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release and hold harmless Jax Smiley Social, its organizers, hosts, assistants, volunteers, members, venues, sponsors, and partners (“the Releasees”) from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action for injury, illness (including communicable disease), death, or property damage arising out of or related to my participation in any event. This includes claims resulting from the negligence of the Releasees, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

4. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and defend the Releasees from any claim or liability asserted by a third party as a result of my actions, conduct, or participation in any Group activity.

5. Medical Treatment

If I am injured or become ill, I authorize the organizers to arrange emergency medical care as deemed necessary. I understand that I am solely responsible for any resulting costs of treatment or transportation.

6. Media Consent

I grant permission for photos or videos taken during Group events that include my image to be used for non-commercial promotional purposes (such as Meetup posts, social media, or flyers) without compensation. If I do not wish to appear in such materials, I will notify the organizer in writing before attending an event.

7. Health and Fitness

I certify that I am physically fit to participate in Group activities and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I will notify the organizer of any health concerns that could affect my safe participation.

8. Understanding and Acknowledgment

I have read this document in full, understand it, and agree to be bound by it. I understand that by joining or attending any Jax Smiley Social event, I waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue the Group or its organizers for ordinary negligence. This release applies to all past, present, and future events organized by Jax Smiley Social unless revoked in writing.

9. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes arising from participation in Jax Smiley Social activities shall be resolved in the courts of Duval County, Florida.
